Adelaide Strikers will host Sydney Thunders in
their last home game on Monday.Having lost just one match so far in the
tournament they still top the league table but they still cant take it
for granted as most team still have chance to get into top four.A Win
here at their Adelaide Oval Ground will secure them their first ever
entry into bbl final four teams.
On the other Thunders are still in the business for fight for a spot in
finals unlike previous leagues and will be looking for their much needed
third win of the tournament. They are coming from a loss against Hobart
Hurricanes in a greeny top wicket and will be hoping that their deep
batting line up will show better play in hot and sunny conditions here
at Oval. Also they will be looking at Jack Kallis to give another match
winning performance who enjoys a very good international record in oval
with both bat and ball.
Team News-
Hosts Strikers have made
some change to the squad to face Sydney Thunder on Monday. Young Left
handed batsman Kelvin Smith comes to the squad of final 13 players. He
comes in the squad in place of injured bowler Chadd Sayers who is out of
remaining tournament.
Fastman Gary Putland is also included to the squad who was dropped
against Perth Scorchers. And making place for them will be all-rounder
Hamish Kingston and batsman Seb Gotch.
Visitors Sydney Thunder had
to made couple of forced changes coming into this clash.
Skipper Mike Hussey is out due to calf injury, while their strike bowler
Pat Cummins has been included in the Australian World Cup squad and
will join the squad soon so will be unavailable to Thunders now.Taking
their place will be Ahillen Beadle and Chris Green.
Strikers will
definitely aim to give win in their last group match at home while one
can expect thunders to be more competative here at good batting
conditions. Both teams have some young inclusions and their performance
will be vital. But we think hosts Strikers should confirm their place at
finals with win here in front of home crowd.
