Two years before when Mohit Suri & Vishesh films decided to make the sequel Ashique 2 nearly twenty years after the original, it simply sounds like a really really bad idea.

But when the actual film came out, it blew away all the expectations and became one of the biggest hits of last year. To be honest, the film was a true phenomenon that was hugely liked by the audiences and the film's leggy run at the box office proved it.

Now the question is ' Will the history be repeated this weekend ? ' And all the signs point out that 'yes'. Ek Villain is darker in tone and Siddharth Malhotra will be seen as an action hero for the first time in his carrier.

Finally, there is Ritesh Deshmukh who will be seen in a role that is a comeplete departure from his wheelhouse i.e. Comedy. There is Nothing to say about the films music. It's already the biggest hit of the year. Songs like Galliyaan, Jarrorat and Banjarra are rocking the music chart.

If the film has any real problem at all, it's the film's darker tone. Will family audiences come to see this action heavy dark romantic film ? But that's not really a big problem since it's a really low cost film and the opening will ensure a healthy return.

First day: 9 crore
Weekend: 30 crore
Lifetime: 70 crore
