After some really dull period Bollywood is back to life with the release of Happy New Year which got a thunderous opening this Friday. the occupancy is the best of 2014 beating like of Kick or Bang Bang. the Mumbai circuit is recording the best collection in years with all India occupancy near 85 to 90 percent. the first day opening record will definitely be set but with a 3 hour run time 40 crore will not be that easy.

Now what critics
are thinking about the film?? not surprisingly the film got mixed
reviews, as always with this kind of movies. but the critics also think
that Happy New Year is the perfect family entertainment with the mix of
song, dance, action, drama and off course some melodrama. the screenplay
is simple and the post interval sequence took nearly half an hour
return in its original plot, first hour is matter than the others and
the climax is perfect. not many like the 3 hours long run time.music is a
huge letdown.
Coming on the performance it's hard to believe that it's actually Abhishek Bacchan whose performance is being applauded by all, even some critics believe that he even surpasses Shahrukh Khan. Talking about khan he is charming as usual, Deepika Padukone doesn't have too many scene. All the remaining cast is good apart from Jacky Shroff. The production value is top class.
As always there is an ending song, where you can see the actors perticipating in the worst dance competition.don't miss some special appearance particularly the one of SRK's son Abram.
