The biggest festival of the year has arrived, so is one of the
biggest film of the year. Shahrukh Khan returned on his Diwali spot with his Om Shanti Om director and actress. in fact its the third time SRK is working with both
of them. so now biggest question is "can they make a Hat trick with their new
film happy new year?".
SRK and Farah Khan"s previous collaborations tell us that
yes they can. the choreographer turned director start her direction debut with SRK
in Main Hoon Na, then the Jodi were back again in 2007 with that years biggest
hit. but Farah Khan decided not to direct SRK again and the result was the disastrous tees mar khan, and going with the trend this is the biggest
question mark beside this and actually most of the films just look no further than three weekend, bang bang was
looking like a sure shot 200 crore grosser, but the films grand action
unfortunately wasn't enough, the film got poor reviews which reflect in the
collection. but one problem that HNY will not face is competition. there is no
good film in the market so this is the only choice for audience.
Another strong point is its strong supporting cast, specially Deepika Padukone, who is continuing an amazing run at the box office.
Though the first trailer wasn't that well received like kick
or bang bang trailer, it bends action, comedy and songs very well. the music is
good but there is no chart buster and apart from Manwa Lage none of them has the
same effect that the songs of Om Shanti Om had 7 years ago.
Since its releasing in the Diwali day, its a forgone conclusion
that it will set a new opening day record beating dhoom3. some are predicting
40 crore but considering the three hour lifetime its easier said than done. but
the biggest question is if it can beat the lifetime business of dhoom3. not that
easy but if the content is there unlike Jai Ho or Bang Bang, 200 crore is a lock.
1st day : 37 crore
weekend (4 day) : 115 crore
