After some quiet weekend, box office could soar
again with Yash Raj film's Kill Dil which is guaranteed to open at
no.1, but that doesn't always mean a success for bollywood film. so the
actual question is by how much?
Director Shaad Ali returns after
nearly 7 years whose last film was the box office flop Jhoom Barabar Jhoom. but he is also the director of Sathiyaa and Bunty Aur Bubly two
hugely successful film. his returning directional vehicle reunite Ranveer singh and Parineeti Chopra after Ladies vs Ricky Bahl and also
stars Ali Zafar. but the real surprise is Govinda who returns to the
mainstream film after a long hiatus and acts as a father figure for the
crime due Ali Zafar and Ranveer.
from the trailer, the biggest
problem for the film looks like its similarities to Ranveer Singh's
last film Gunday. both film has the same premise of two buddy crimer. Ranveer Singh is coming from two back to back hit films and both the
films shocked everyone with there huge opening. but that not going to
happen with kill dil, since both of these movies had big budget, huge
set pieces and supporting name like Deepika Padukone, Sanjay Leela Bhansali or Priyanka Chopra and Arjun Kaapor. Kill Dil is missing
everything of that so this film could be a real taste for the brand
value of the actor.
But there is also pluses. Ali Zafar and Govinda both are talented actor
who has their own fan base. add Ladies vs Ricky Bahl Parineeti who is doing a glamorous roll
for the first time.though music by Shankar-Ehsan-Loy doesn't click the audience they were above average at least. the last but not least unlike Gunday or Ramleela this one is a midly budgeted film so don't need a
huge opening to succeed.
Overall, critics and audience reception could be crucial for this film which also can change the weekend business. finally, don't expect Ramleela or Gunday number here, judge this one on its own merit.
