Boxoffice Weekend: Kill Dill average, The Shaukeens drops heavily, Happy New Year passes 3 Idiots lifetime !

Kill Dill fails to score at the box office and earns a very modest 20 crore in its first weekend. Considering the Yash Raj Production's modest budget, it can be called a respectable figure. but when you consider the star cast with the inclusion of Govinda and Ali Zafar, this film looks like a big miss. look no further than Ranveer Singh's last film 'Gunday' which earns 16 crore in its opening day alone!

Kill Dill actually never looks that appealing like Gunday. music is a letdown and the bad reviews also take a big part as proved by the films weekend trend. it drops on saturday which means going forward it may not hold well. the daily figures are :

Friday - 6.50 crore 
Saturday - 6.25 crore 
Sunday - 7.25 crore

Last weekend's champion The shaukeens can not sustain well. the film drops a huge 85% percent from its opening weekend earning just 3 crore. The total collection after 10 day is 31 crore and a lifetime below 35 crore is guaranteed now.

On its fourth weekend Happy New Year earns 1 crore and finally passes 3 Idiots to become the fifth highest grosser of all time behind Dhoom 3, Krish 3, Kick and Chennai Express. The film is looking at a 205 crore lifetime finish.

 And finally last weekend's Hollywood release Intersteller holds very well, droping less than 50% it earns 4.5 crore and total business is 18.5 crore so far, a very impressive result for an original Hollywood release.
