Happy New Year earned a good 20 crore net in its second weekend taking its 10
day total to a huge 154 cr. after 10 days. Though the film has a huge fall
on its 2nd Friday, It shows huge growth on its 2nd Saturday and Sunday.
Sunday business is more than double of the Friday's. The weak
competition help the film greatly and will continue to lead the box
office through the weak. But there is another important release on next
Friday 'The Shaukeens' which will likely stop this film's good run.
The other new release is hit hard by Happy New Year. Roar-The Tigers of Sunderban earned 5 crore. Thats not a bad number if one considers its face value, but the cost is high due to special effects. The condition of Super Nani is even worse. The comeback vehicle of Rekha earned a disastrous 1.5 crore. Both film will end up as a loss for the producer.
