Mockingjay earns 17 million from its Thursday evening shows. while that easily beats Guardians of the Galaxy's 11.2 million gross to become 2014's highest Thursday evening gross, it's pail in comparison to its predecessors. the first hunger games opens with 19.7 million in 2012 and at the same weekend last year Catching Fire earns 25.2 million from similar release.
Though it's still a solid result, all the signs aligns nicely to our prediction that Mockingjay will not reach the 150 million opening weekend benchmark but anything close to 140 million is still very likely.
