Like previous telltale’s the walking dead game this is a point and click episodic adventure where players will have to make some really hard choices. The game is based on the Bestselling Comics Fables by Bill Willingham. It takes place in a town called Fabletown.The game mainly focuses on the lives of a number of Fairy Tale characters like The Big Bad Wolf, Snow white, Beauty and the beast and more. After their only hometown was destroyed by a mysteries and a powerful entity these fairy tale characters escaped their homeland and arrived in our human world almost hundred years ago, since then they disguised themselves and lived among humans hiding their true identity. They live in a town called Fable town where their sheriff Bigby or AKA Big Bad Wolf protects them from each other.
Story:
Just like telltale’s previous game walking dead this one also has a very powerful brilliantly written and emotional story. The game has many interesting characters and great character development and a very interesting plot that keeps players very emotionally invested in the game, And also at the edge of their seat. You truly feel and care about the characters which are again very rare in video games but this game successfully pulls it off. The story starts with the murder of a dead fable and keeps getting more and more interesting in each episode.
Gameplay:
Again just like walking dead the game is basically a point and click adventure game but you do have to engage in a certain quick time events which are done very well and definitely one of the best parts of the game. It makes you feel very badass at some points, But it also has downsides as sometimes it becomes too easy and therefore takes some fun out of it, And it can get tiring and boring at some points but it doesn’t affect the game much, The real gameplay is in the decision making it is very hard, As choosing weather a certain character will die or live or who will you arrest as a suspect, Although it doesn’t affect the story too much but it makes the game feel very realistic.
Graphics:
Similar to walking dead this game also have the comic book art style graphics which is very unique and interesting. There are a few glitches but in pc it’s very less, But not the console version.
Voice Acting: This game has amazing voice acting, the actors did an amazing job. The characters really come alive because of the voice acting.
Last Verdict:
Although I’m not a fan of Telltale’s once in a month episode policy but still each episode of the game is an amazing gaming experience. Although it’s probably a good idea to buy the whole season at retail store as you can experience the whole game. And in the end I will say The game is worth every penny. And it is very cheap considering the amazing experience it gives you. And I give this game a solid 9 out of 10.
