After a really quiet Halloween weekend, box office is going to experience a huge boost with two very different movies entering the marketplace, interstellar, undoubtedly the most anticipated original movie of this year and Disney's Big Hero 6, there follow up of last years massively successful frozen and both movies have the chance of opening over 50 million. in spite of that there's currently a lot of reason to believe that the latest project form director Christopher Nolan will take the first place and the biggest reason is probably the director himself who is currently one of the most trusted name in the film business. the director's last few movies were hugely successfull both in commercially and critically. His latest is about a group of explorers who made a journey over the wormhole to find a new home for people also boost from a strong cast from last year's Oscar winner Matthew McConaughey to Anne Hathaway and Jessica Chastain.

Interstellar vs Big Hero 6 review and box office collection

The films space setting gives the film a strong sense of visual, though some may complain on it's similarity to last year's gravity. Though the film has so many pluses, the biggest drawback is probably it's early critical reviews which is currently at 75% on rotten tomatoes. don't get us wrong, 75% is still a great number but it sales in comparison in other Nolan movies. and the fact that many was expecting it to be the next gravity and inception could be disappointed with this result. still the reviews suggest that the film is the most emotionally effective film of recent time. so if this consensus work well with the movie going audience the movie is destined to have a good run throughout the holiday. with an added boost from IMAX theaters a total north of 230 million is very likely.

Interstellar film review and box office predition

Big hero 6 is opening at 3,700 theaters and many trade analyzers are expecting it to wind up above interstellar. based on an obscure marvel comic character, the film has a lot of going for it.

No, 'based on a marvel comic' isn't its most important aspect, actually this tagline has hardly been on the marketing. in stead Disney sells there movie with its most appealing character bay mix and his super hero friends with the tagline that this is the new movie from the Disney animation company who are on a roll lately. since the release of bolt, the studio has release a string of successful films with the princess and the frog, tangled and wreck it Ralph. actually most people are calling it a new renaissance of Disney and last year they proved it with a little movie called frozen, which can be called nothing less than a global phenomenon. but the studio doesn't make it easy and in stead of making another princess movie they tried something new and fresh and challenging at the same time. but the film's marketing has done a good job selling the movie, they mixed the right amount of humor, action and emotion with a very appealing set of character. early reviews are strong which give it a final push.

Big Hero 6 reviews and box office collection prediction

The major concern is, since the 'awesome' performance of the Lego movie, all of the animation films of this year have performed somewhat below expectation and unlike frozen this movie has to face a lot of competition. from opening with another biggie to Dream Works penguins of Madagascar and other holiday releases will probably hurt the film's long term prospect. still it's been quite sometime a major animation film has entered the market and Disney brand is now more viable than ever. expect a good run after the big weekend with a lifetime with more than 200 million.
Here's our final weekend projection

Interstellar: 62 million

Big Hero 6 : 48 million
