Fourth
edition of KFC Big Bash League is in full swing and we have already
seen enough of twists.It is now clear that any team in the league can
come on top on its day.
This weekend in bbl04 ended with a thrilling contest between Melbourne Stars and Brisbane Heats in which heats finally enjoyed 1 run victory over Stars who fought very well to come back after early wicket falls but that was not just enough for them.And the Pre-tournament favorite again denied their first win in bbl04.
Moving on-Monday clash will be between Early stage table toppers Sydney Sixers and defending champions Perth Scorchers.Sixers are unbeaten in the tournament with three straight wins and Scorchers looked very well settled in theirs first win in league after having poor opening game.Both teams are coming in this clash after a win and they will want to carry that confidence further in league with win here.
Perth Scorchers will expect another good knock from their centurion of last match Michael Klinger who single handed help them put a big score on board batting first and will hope he will again play a long inning.Skipper Adam Voges is yet to mark any eye catching performance and he will have to step up with other top order batsmen like Carberry and Harris because their middle order is flappy most of time.And in many matches their lower order has helped them to achieve a fighting score which includes player like ashton turner and yasir Arafat.Scorchers trumph card in bowling will again be Bendroff who is in good form with new ball in hand and in final overs it will be as always with his chicky slower balls Yasir Arafat to stop flow of runs and take wickets.
Hosts Sydney Sixers all batsmen have looked in good touch in the tournament so far.Openers Lumb and Maddinson looked great while hitting new ball while Ricky Wessels found some form with half century in sixer's previous match victory.
Not to forget their bowling line up looked best combined so far with likes of Brett Lee, Sean Abbott, Doug Bollinger and handy all rounder Moises Henriques.
Perths batsman are likely to struggle against sixers strong bowling line-up and someone from top has to play inning like Michael Klinger to get them or chase them a good score.Sixers have better form with them and they are likely to dominate on monday in Sydney ground in front of their crowd.Perth definately has fire to upset the favorite once again in league but someone has to perform exceptionally to get crucial points against in form hosts Sydney Sixers.Overall it will be a good contest to see Sixers in-form top orders taking on Scorchers in-form fast bowling and Sixers dangerous bowling attack against Scorchers pretty unpredictable batting side.
