So moving the release date of that film was expected and Now, The Hollywood Reporter brings word this afternoon that DreamWorks Animation has pushed the third film back to its original date of March 18, 2016.
“Kung Fu Panda is one of DWA’s most treasured properties, and we want to make sure it is positioned where it has the best chance to reach the broadest audience,” Fox President of Domestic Distribution Chris Aronson told. “In reviewing the competitive landscape, which we do on an ongoing basis, we feel that the spring availability does just that — gives KFP the maximum amount of air to breathe in order to have a long, successful run.”

March 4- Zootopia March 11- Warcraft March 18- DIvergent Series: Allegient Part 1 March 25- Batman V. Superman. so that month too is crowded with films targeting at the family audience, so KF3 need strong word of mouth to score on that release date.
The film will be directed by Jennifer Yuh Nelson, who also directed KF2. Jack Black returns as the voice of Po in the film along with Gary Oldman, Dustin Hoffman, David Cross, Angelina Jolie, Michelle Yeoh, Mads Mikkelsen, Danny McBride, Lucy Liu, Seth Rogen, Jackie Chan, James Hong, and Bryan Cranston.
