The strong Christmas day business pushed PK further and now the movie sets a new benchmark by crossing the 180 crore mark just in its first seven days. In this way Aamir Khan breaks his own record of the highest opening week collection of Dhoom3, which earned 178 crore on the same week last year.
PK is already the
second highest grosser of 2014 and the way it's going its certain to be
the highest grosser beating Salman Khan's Kick, probably just after its
second weekend. Below are
the daily figures for the first week as reported by Box Office India
Friday - 26,00,00,000
Saturday - 29,50,00,000
Sunday - 37,75,00,000
Monday - 21,00,00,000
Tuesday - 19,00,00,000
Wednesday - 19,50,00,000
Thursday 27,50,00,000
Total - 1,80,25,00,000
As you might notice the fact that it earned
more in its seventh day than its opening day (thanks in part to the
Christmas holiday ) which is a great sign even considering the holiday.
Now the real target looks like the Lifetime figure of Dhoom3 and by the
next Monday we will get a clear picture whether it could break it or
not.
