Since the release of Happy New Year, it's been a complete dull space. Every single release from roar to last weekend's Kill Dill fails to impress the audience. Now, it's time for Saif Ali Khan to try on a exclusively high end multiplex targeted film but will the general audience too are excited to see a new pairing?

After a really long period of working only with Kareena Kapoor and Deepika Padukone, audience will see Saif with  Ileana D'Cruz in Happy Ending. The Raj and Krishna d.k. directed film also includes some really strong actors like Kalki Koeclin, Ranveer Shoray and last but not least Govinda as a struggling Bollywood actor trying his luck in Hollywood. Though the trailer and songs may make you believe that this is a romantic comedy, that was absolutely misleading. Yes, there is definitely a romantic cornar but this one is actually a satire on B Town, which makes it a tough sell.

The director duo have always tried to do something new in Bollywood. Just look at their last film Go Goa Gone, India's first zombie film. though that film wasn't highly well received, it did solid business. Saif's last release Humshakals can be called the worst film of 2014 so far, but that film still earned over 10 crore in its opening day but that film's comedy genre is an easy sell, which is not the case with Happy Ending. Specially, it won't get any favor from single screens. Music of the film is composed by Sachin-Jigar which is average at best.

So, look for an average opening. but as a multiplex targeted film, there is a good chance of improving over the weekend. the Govinda factor could attract some fanbase, but unfortunately his kill dill is still running in the theatre. moreover, ungli will release on its second weekend, which can weaken its holding power. so, this one needs some solid word of mouth.

Weekend: 25 crore
