Two
keenly awaited very different movie will enter the cinemas after the
thunderous diwali weekend and though neither are a sure thing, both are
expected to do solid business.
Its a forgone conclusion that The Shaukeens a remake of a classic 1982 film will by far top the chart. though the film's main cast are actually Anupam Kher, Anu Kapoor & Piyush Mishra but they were hardly seen on the marketing. In stead they gave importance on the presence of Akshay Kumar and Lisa Haydon both are actually a supporting cast appearing in a extended special appearance. these confusing marketing could be a factor in the film's final business. audience could be turned down by this unless the movie is actually good. there's reason to expect it is.
The director Abhishek Sharma make a
splash with debut film Tere Bin Laden. the film's writer Tigmanshu Dhulia is also a respected name. the music though not a hit, has been
well received by audience.
This film can be compared to OMG! oh my god, both film stars Akshay kumar in an extended supporting role. OMG opens averagely but word of mouth was so strong that it earned more than 60 crore. Going forward this movie too will try to repeat this .

Randeep Hooda and Nandana Sen starring film based on the life of legendary artist Ravi Varma was completed more than four years ago. but controversy surrounding the film's portrayal of the artist and nudity held off it's release. there has been a lot of talking around these things which actually works as a good publicity, so the makers held back from highly marketing it. moreover, the director is a trusted name for such kind of films and Randeep Hooda too isn't an unknown name anymore.
